Claudette Evens, E-RYT500

Claudette is a self-described yoga nerd, and has been a student of yoga for more than 16 years, and a teacher for nearly 7. She is Lily’s mom, a classically-trained singer and performer, athlete, arts administrator, event producer, small business owner and for 7 years ran a national conference on community service and citizenship. These experiences helped clarify her purpose, and taught her a lot about business while deepening her love of yoga. She counts herself extremely lucky to have had great mentors in her life who have helped her personal and professional growth and development; including Denise Benitez, Elizabeth Rainey, Catherine Munro, and Zoe Mai. Through their example, Claudette has also become passionate about training and mentoring teachers, and strives to give emerging teachers the tools they need to give their best to enhance their students’ experience. In her weekly classes, she invites curious and seasoned practitioners toward an experience of greater strength, sensitivity, freedom, skillfulness, and wisdom, so that they can cultivate greater connection in their lives. Through a deft weaving of precise alignment, thoughtful insight, Sanskrit chanting, plus a great sense of humor, Claudette’s classes create space for self-expression, clarity of focus, and the sheer joy of movement. Claudette is an apprentice with the American Sanskrit Institute, and shares the beauty of Sanskrit in classes, workshops and weekend immersions around the Pacific Northwest and in Canada.
